David Ross was entered in the Navy List of Medical Officers in 1814. He was appointed assistant-surgeon to the ship Royal William in 1810 [1]
Strathfieldsaye
He was employed as Surgeon-Superintendent on the convict ship Strathfieldsaye to Van Diemen's Land in 1831Parland
He was employed as Surgeon on the Government Immigrant ship Parland in 1838. Parland departed Loch Fayle (Ireland) on 3rd June 1838 and arrived in Sydney on 3rd October with 295 Government immigrants. Three children died and there were 4 births during her passage out. The ship was placed in quarantine on arrivalHe was on the List of Royal Navy Surgeons who were fit for service in 1841.
