Details: Philip Hughes was put to the bar on a similar charge; it appeared that this man was recognized in town, a few days ago, to be one of some more who had absconded about 15 months ago, from the gaol gang at Newcastle; he had been repeatedly advertised, but always contrived to avoid observation. On Thurs- day last, being somewhat inebriated, a constable managed to take him in charge. The prisoner was decently attired, and had employed himself in Sydney, with some degree of credit. Remanded.
