Details:
Last evening a largely-attended benefit concert was held in the Methodist School Hall, Mayfield, in aid of Mr. Warren Cazneau, a well-known and old resident of the district. Years ago Mr. Cazneau was a well-known photographer, and is said to have been one of the first who practised the profession in the city. In recent years he was employed as a clerk in the employ of the late Mr. J. B. Barclay, of Hamilton. Some thirteen months ago he was stricken with paralysis while at the foundry, and since that time has been a confirmed invalid. The young men connected with the church led by Mr. Hollinshead, promoted the concert, which proved a thorough success, the hall being packed. Prior to the opening the Waratah Brass Band, led by Mr. R. Lee, played several selections in the church grounds. Mr. W. Winn presided, and briefly explained the object of the concert
