Details: Mr. William Trollope, assistant to Dr. Getty at Morpeth was charged with cutting and maiming, with intent to do grievous bodily harm, the child of John Clifford of Morpeth. The child Laurence Clifford, had his fingers severely damaged by a shingling hammer by another child. He was taken to Dr. Getty who was not in and so was treated by Mr. Trollope who amputated the fingers. The case was dismissed
